Cooperative learning and Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences

Hello everyone i hope that you are in good condition and safe so here we are again on blog. Today's topic is about Cooperative learning and Gardner's theory. Educators around the world recognised that not all students learn the same way. There is no general intelligence but each person has at least eight distinct intelligences.

The multiple intelligences go beyond learning modalities. Implementation of Cooperative learning activities incorporating Gardner's theory have a positive effect on students attitude. When working together students of all grades achieve more academically,acquire social skills improve social realtions and like school more. Through cooperative learning we provide a positive model in our classrooms of what our society ideally can be. But what is the relation between cooperative learning and multiple intelligences? They share the same goal: to help students succeed in school and beyond it. In cooperative learning we have identified distinct strategies for practice and review,  sharing information, building communication skills etc . While for Multiple Intelligences we have identified many strategies which engage and develop each of the 8th intelligences. Students are different levels and teacher has to apply cooperative learning and to orientate them. Cooperative learning help students improve their skills , collaborate with each other pay more attention etc. The role of the teacher in this case is that she helps students, motivate them and discover new things with students. That program is important because it emphasises learning , in a way that each student to find its fitting place. Understanding that people learn through a variety of methods means that teachers should plan to present their lessons in a wide variety. Although using multiple intelligences has many benefits, as a teacher you realize that there are many ways to be smart and students develop strong problem solving skills that they will use in real life situations. I think that there is much more beyond cooperative learning than just fixing students into small groups. There is a variety of learning activities to improve their understanding of a subject, to develop critical and logical thinking . We as society all cooperate in our everyday life, at work, school , home collaborate with each other divide our works and things to do and so on. Students who work together remember lesson longer, are able to think logically, learn to respect different opinions. They do not have the tendency to compete each other but instead help one another  to engage in thoughtful discourse and active learning. In that way students are prepared for the future, to face the real life, for jobs that require teamwork, they encourage and support each other. According to my opinion those are valuable skills that accompanies each of the student all their lifes. Multiple intelligences is an appreciation of each individual for his or her uniqueness, while cooperative learning is and effective way for a productive classroom.
